World Mosquito Day | 20th August

Today we mark World Mosquito Day.

This day is about new approaches to dealing with mosquito issues, and how we can each play a part for our community, home, and the environment. #WorldMosquitoDay

What you can do
Small actions make a big difference:
- Clear standing water around your home to stop mosquitoes from breeding
- Use mosquito nets, repellents, and window screens
- Support community clean-up and awareness efforts
- Protect the environment by managing waste and water safely

A quick history
World Mosquito Day was created by Sir Ronald Ross soon after his discovery of the link between mosquitoes and malaria. He declared that August 20th would be known around the globe as World Mosquito Day.

Let’s work together to reduce mosquito-borne risks and keep our communities safer. Share what you’re doing with #WorldMosquitoDay
